likes and dislikes I like prim and whimsey. I know sounds odd but everyone gets along and does look good. I have a tart warmer and we love tarts. Love anything hand made. When we redid our home we got rid of a lot of *junk* and went with *made in the USA*. OK, I have very very few pieces that say *made in China* I love prim colors and bright colors, depends on the room, but basically browns, black, prim colors. Love anything hand made. When we redid our home we got rid of a lot of *junk* and went with *made in the USA*. OK, I hve very very few pieces that say *made in China* I use to be a HUGE craftaholic but have slowed down the past 3 years. My painting had really taken to the far side burner. Hopefully some day I will get back to that. I do different stitcheries, sew (but not dollies) crochet . I have a huge collection of tarts. DOn't have to melt them to make the house smell purdy, I have so many. HA!! Baskets and baskets of them.

My name is Debbie and I'm currently living out in the boonies of southeast Missouri with my husband, two cats and one dog. I found you through a new friend, Robby! She is such a sweetie! :)
I am currently a college student, 30 years after high school, studying to get my associates degree in Culinary Arts. I love to cook and share recipes and currently working on doing my own cookbook.
When I am not in school, or caring for my husband who was diagnosed with MS almost two years ago, I craft. I love sewing, painting, embroidery, basket weaving, crocheting and much more.

Another passion is photography but right now its too darn cold to go out and take pictures. *laughing*

"I'm in the back row on the right (as you look at the photo) with my hubby. My daughter, son-in-law, grandson.and granddaughter are in front of us. "

Kady I'm a 59 year old retired RN living in a small town in southwest Ohio with my hubby of 38 years and our collection of cats and a dog. We have one daughter, a son-in-law, and two sweet, talented grandkids. I love being their nana.
We live a little bit in the country but have the necessary conveniences of city living. We sometimes wake to the sound of mooing cows and crowing roosters. Our home is full of cats and one big dog, and the occasional orphaned bird or other animal - no real cows or roosters here. I've been rescuing cats and kittens for a long time. I don't have to look for them since they always seem to find me. I think I'm becoming a cat whisperer.
I love the prim look but my house is decorated in a "lived in" country style more than anything else, with primitive touches here and there. Sewing is one of my passions and I've participated in craft shows and shops for over 35 years. My sanctuary is a backyard cabin Hubby built for me five years ago. When the grandkids were younger, we played in there, but now they're pursuing their own interests, so it's my crafting cabin again and a place to think, write, and dream.

(Here is what Jen has been up to) I starting walking and now running so that takes alot of my time or did. The weather hasn't been great so the running has slowed down. Was running an hour every day though. Did a few longer runs and was suppost to do a half marathon this coming weekend but friend backed out I was doing it with. Maybe in the spring.I'm still at the school doing hot lunches and the muffin lady thing. Some little kid said hi to me at the store yesterday and when his parents asked him who I was....."That's the Muffin lady!". I still laugh when i hear that....lol. I haven't been designing a whole lot lately but need to get back into it. I have a big show in a few weeks so I'm in full production mode right now....or I'm suppost to be. My house looks like it anyways. Still have stuff at my girlfriends store in town and so that keeps me busy enough. Filling orders and stuff for there. painting signs. I thought i was done with signs 8 years ago but they still sell like crazy up here. Lots of custom stuff.Kids are getting so big. Dylan is in grade 10...highschool and has a girlfriend who just gave him the flu/cough/cold. Hayden is in Grade 8 and still my little ham. He's SO much like Jon it's scarey. Sayrah T and her hunkey!
Happy Anniversary  Sayrah Sept 30th!
Sayrah

Sayrah
SayRah (buttrflychic)

Hello *old* and new friends! My name is Sarah (or if your from the south it's pronounced Sayrah)! Some of you may know me from Sisters , others may know me as Blondie's DD. Either way, I'm just plain me. I am married (celebrating 3 years the 30th of this month) to a wonderful hubby who makes everyday I'm with him a new experience (and I'm not exaggerating!). I live in beautiful NC with DH and our 4 doggies, a.k.a children. They are my *world*. I currently work @ a Christian Daycare working with 2/3 year olds, and I also go to school for Medical Office Administration. I will (FINALLY!) graduate this coming May with my Associates Degree. I love the Lord and strive daily to be a blessing to not only Him but to others. I love to scrapbook, cross-stitch, hopefully quilt if I can get dear Blondie to find time to teach me (hehe, love you Mommy), garden, cook, and I'm looking into to start learning Pottery. I've always wanted to learn, and would love to start my own business in making/selling it one day, Lord willing. If there's anything else you would like to know about me, just give me an old-fashioned holler. I'm not shy, and I don't bite (much). I am so thankful to be a part of the Keeping Room, and to have been invited into all of your lives :) I, too, love to sew, cross-stitch, scrap-book, cook, and garden.Likes and dislikes Neutral colors (although I decorate in Americana also, so grungy red/white/blue is great too). Decoration style is basically throw it all together and see what comes up lol, but Americana is pretty basic throughout my house. I love all candles, greeters, ornies, etc. I'm a very easy person to please, trust me. It doesn't take much to put a smile on my face :)) Is this cool? Just remember--no crazy-eyed dolls and I'll love you forever (with lots of hugs & kisses!)
Likes and dislikes I love neutraL colors--creams, browns, deep reds & blues. I have a major addiction to ANYTHING butterfly related (hence the name buttrflychic!). This is what my house mainly consists of as far as 'decorations' go, and boy doesn't the DH enjoy that, lol. I also love vintage and prim crafts and decorations. Must get it from the Momma. I LOVE the Lord and simply can't get enough of his goodnesss. Lord just shower me with it! Bargains are my middle name-yard sales, clearances, goodwills, salvation army's and DEF. antique stores. Take me out junk shopping and I'm a happy gal.I love old movies, classic rock/oldies The Beatles, Bob Dylan, etc, FLIP FLOPS *(yup, I'll wear em' in the snow, too!), photography & pottery. A good glass of wine, or hot green tea with lemon & honey--and tons of laughter on the side. I dislike dolls. Sorry-and DM is disappointed for sure. Let me specify--I dislike the eyes. I can't stand a doll, let alone a room full, with eyes staring @ me. Creepfest for sure. Trust me, The Moms has had a lot of laughs @ my expense over this issue of mine. I dislike clowns & midgets (aren't I a weird one. Only 5 feet tall and I'm scared of someone a foot shorter than me!)

Illinois
I am Pat Fischer, I paint when I am able to, and have been a member of Delphi for years and probably know several of you already, as you do me. I was invited to join in the discussions by a dear friend to me by the name of Cindy B.We spoke recently about wintering someplace else, but I think we are going to have to try and brave it out, as there is a new research project that my PH specialist wants me to consider. So it looks like science wil be keeping my old behind in Illinois this winter !I just started to paint again after not really being able to do so for the past couple of years, except for now and then. I was in and out of the hospital from April until the middle of June, so that prevented me from doing much of anything during those months. I was in for a long time this past time, really a total of 10 weeks, but some was spent in rehab at the nursing home. Long time away from home !! LOL Yes, my faith has brought me through many tight spots the past 2 years, and I am thankfull that I am in somewhat of a stable place right now.I am about ready to reach the highest level in Farm Town and it's been a good challenge for me....but the time could well be spent doing something constructive, but hey at my age I take the thrils where ever I can find them, and Farm Town has been addicting to me since I plowed that first field.
I was working on a painting the other day, and put a cabbage field in the fields of this primitive farm scene that is the usual Pat Fischer....LOL.... I thought my Farm Town buddies would get a kick out of that, knowing what had inspired me. Encouragement from a fellow crafter/artisan always helps me through some rough spots. So you are very welcome to my opinion.....LOL Inspiration is hard to come by sometimes, and some people that create originals understand what I am talking about, such as your work, it is obvious to me it takes some creativity to create such gorgeous pieces ! So get to work and play with your clay, I have been playing with my paints and brushes lately and know how it feels to be in the "moment"..... *** Pat is a featured artist in the Carrage House for Novemember...be sure to check out her work and information given on PH.
Likes and dislikes Well let's see...I like prim, but not the nasty dirty looking stuff...don't understand that at all. Do not care at all for cutsey, more of a traditionalist I guess. I love antiques and have several... I don't craft much anymore, hardly ever, and bought a Circut Expressions only to give it to my daughter...LOL Though I would give that a whirl...but didn't interest me in the least.
As you all probably know, the joy in my life as far as arts and crafts go is in my paintings and inspirational items I do for other companies. I am currently developing a "new" look for some art that was requested and found out that 20 of the pieces will be released as prints in this next quarter. Happy days, for me ! I love knee socks and so suffer from the cold, so any and all work for me, depending on the temp that particular day, as well as my mood...I do have dress knee socks but love the fun ones for here at home...
My kitchen is a mixture of antiques, with a blue Currior and Ives theme going on, I collected enamelware for so long, and it is the highlight of that area... Rest of the house is a mixture of things from the past, current handmades, and of course my prints. That's about all I can think of this night, so that gives a birds eyeview into the way we live. I find that I am simplifing more and more every season !!!

Hi everyone! It's Helen the Little Round Lady from southwestern IL. I'm a gourd artist and for now that's the only crafting I do. The garden keeps us (my dh Doc and I) busy. I canned and froze a ton of stuff. Yesterday I cleared away a row of dead tomatoe plants so in a couple of weeks the garden will be finished for the season. I picked the last of the green beans but we are still getting peppers of all kinds. We do have late broccoli and cauliflower but not sure if that will make anything or not. Likes and dislikes
I’m allergic to dust and ironically I’m allergic to dusting (LOL) so to remedy this my project for the last couple of years has been purging myself of many chotskies and dust catchers. So I no longer collect much of anything in the way of knick knacks. I love looking at it but can’t tolerate the work involved in keeping my sinuses from going haywire.
I like anything that I can use as in use up, notepads, post its, magnets, glass beads, fancy beads, bead caps, dark chocolate, nuts, coffee flavor, flavored hot tea, hot spices, coconut, lemon, pumpkin…I like handmade ornaments of any kind including religious, secular, of any style as long as it’s handmade. I like warm colors as well as beige and ecru. I like sheep and Chihuahuas and Scotties. Low fat recipes, dish towels, pot holders, socks, bath beads…..diamonds LOL!

My only dislikes would be plastic, pastel colors, cartoonish things, clowns and I can’t think of much else that I dislike. I don’t burn candles anymore.

I'm Judy (Jude) and I live in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. I have 3 grown children, and 3 grands!! I still do one show a year, but am thinking of giving it up totally, or else changing my product line drastically. I love old vintage things.
Likes and dislikes.. . Lets see.... I like retro type things in my house... not really into the primitive stuff anymore. Colors are the normal prim colors though. Navy, Dk. Green, Dk red, Mustard. My bathroom has a laundry theme... My house is country, cause it is like a log cabin, but not cutsey country. I love anything paper... I'm into altering, so anything that is different I'm all for. And I like Knee socks, not tight though. Bright colors in socks are fun, stripes, polka dots, etc. LOL.

I'm Sena, and I recently turned 52. I live in beautiful Payson, Utah. Payson is roughly 60 miles south of Salt Lake City. I'm married to Bart, we recently celebrated our 26th anniversary. We have one son, Jake who just turned 23 years old. I'm also a mom to 6 furry felines along with too many stray and feral kitties to mention.
I've been a 911 dispatcher for over 25 years. Prior to that, I was a deputy sheriff for 3 years. I've "graduated" from a super busy and stressful agency to a smaller police agency at one of the local Universities. I still get some excitement but without a lot of the stressful situations that I dealt with for 20 some odd years.
I also work weekends at my local pet hospital. It's been wonderful learning something new after all of this time. Hard, but very rewarding. I am a receptionist in the call center there, and it's non-stop most of the time. I am working towards retiring from dispatching and working for my vet exclusively sometime soon. My cats get free or reduced cost care and that comes in handy since 3 of them have chronic health problems.
I don't get time to create very much these days...and I miss that!
Likes and dislikes I love paper crafting of all kinds, scrap booking, rubber stamping, and painting. I love fabric, ribbon and paper. I'm trying to cure myself of my magazine addiction, lol. I also enjoy stitching of all kinds, quilting, any kind of handwork really. I love home improvement projects and decorating, as well as gardening. There's just not enough time in the day!

I'm Gail in WI. One DH that is plenty to take care of. I stitch and sew and read and garden. likes and dislikes  My house is a mix of antiques and newer Mission style furniture. I love antique kitchen tools/bowls/etc. My colors are usually in the deep reds, blues, and greens. I have lots of herbal accents in my kitchen and I collect fairies (not the cutesy ones). I like gardening, stitching, sewing, and reading. Gail

I am married to my high school sweetie, have three kids (Rachel 35, Phoebe 34 and Ben,27). Also Nana to Nick,16, Beth,14, Elliot,12, Ethan,9, and Lily, six months. I love doing prim crafts and scrapping.
likes and dislikes likes rug mats, stitcheries, salt glaze pottery, pillows, bowl fillers, dolls, pincushions, holiday decor, scrapping supplies, little baskets, garlands...all things prim I guess! My livingroom is cranberry, navy and green and the kitchen is autumn colors.

Dawn
likes and dislikes I like prim and whimsey.

Marcy

I'm Marcy Hopping. Married to Brad for 29 years this coming April. We live on a farm in west central Illinois, raising cattle, wheat, soy beans and corn. We also own and operate a hardware store. We don't have children, but we do have 9 fur babies. babies. (kitties) One of our fur babies lives at our store. He is our hardware cat. We have a picture of him out on our sign. LOL He is a local celebrity. Grouchy ol farmers will come in and ask, "Where's my cat?" They all think he is their cat, ha! We enjoy traveling. This past August, we traveled to Ireland. That was an awesome trip!
My husband is a Fox news junkie. Not me though. I prefer TV Land, chiller channel or game show network, lol. I'm not that into politics. We have a DVR and every day I tape Days of Our Lives and Young & Restless. I've recently learned of a show on A&E (I think Dawn posted about it), called Hoarders, but I haven't seen it yet. I looked it up on the net and found it is on Monday nights at 7 central, but I'm not sure my A&E channel broadcasts that show. We have Dishnet, so I may not get it. I love the shows, America's Got Talent and American Idol.We attend a LOT of movies. Need info on a movie, ask, because we've probably seen it. Paranormal Activity was a great movie. We saw it last weekend.I collect 'Mod' Barbies from the 1960s...those that are twist-n-turn waist with real eyelashes are my favs. Also collect Mattel Liddle Kiddles.Crafts are not my thing, but I do like to pop in now and then to say howdy.I like a good scare now and then. Last night, we drove to a bridge that is in a book titled, The ILLINOIS Road Guide to HAUNTED Locations. The bridge has an old wooden planked floor and it stretches many feet above railroad tracks. The ghost lore is that you can hear phantom trains. It was raining while we were there, but my husband thinks he heard something. lol I think it was traffic from a nearby highway! That's about it for me! You've now discovered that when I do drop by, I tend to write a book! ;P

About Me
I am a Mom of 5....Four of my own, and a step-daughter. I work outside of the home, but prefer to win millions in the lottery and stay at home and craft! Since I don't play the lottery, and chances are Publishers Clearing House is not coming to knock on my door to hand me millions, I guess I'd better not quit my job! I love to craft & have been crafting for over 20 years now (now that is telling my age!). I love all things Primitive, just as if it were sitting in Grannies attic for years! And if you see someone digging through someone's trash along side the road, that would probably be me...as I LOVE dumpster diving! Most of my home is decorated from treasured trash pieces or handmade items that my hubby & I have made. I love scouring thrift shops, goodwills, flea markets, and yard sales. My motto is..."If it has dust or rust on it, I'll find a spot for it somewhere in my home!"
Interests: Primitive Crafting--I love all things old & grungy just like you would find it in grandma's attic!

I love to sew!!!! At times, I'm in my sewing room for 8 to 10 hours a day. Haven't been able to do that much since last Nov. -- fell and had to have rotator surgery. Almost back to normal!! surgery was in April.
back to sewing - for those of you in the area, I used to sew the samples at a store in Hartville ohio - Yankee Barn. I've done the applique sweatshirts for many many years!! Also did alterations in between and made wedding party dresses from the bride down to a tux for a 2 year old!
A few years back - maybe 12 -- I fell in love with the "primitive" world in my decorating. I have gone thru the different stages of primitive too - from the "cutesy to the simple". I prefer the simple early look. I now, sew with the simple look in mind. I enjoy finishing furniture with all the different layers of paint.

My name is Angela, I live in Nova Scotia and I love primitive things! I love everyone's great ideas for making wonderful home decorations and prim crafts. I'm fairly handy when it comes to crafting, not as creative as some of you though, hence why I need you! I am not very computer savy so unless one of my teenagers posts pictures for me I really will be pictureless, but I'm working on that! Look forward to chatting with some familiar names and meeting new ones!

I have been married 33 years and have 1 daughter, age 21.
I love doing all sorts of crafts--x-stitch, needlepunch, rug hooking, sewing, penny rugs. Really like the primitive look in my decorating. I am open to grungy, but don't have a lot of super grungy stuff. I am gradually weeding out all the country stuff from my house and replacing with primitives.
I manage a 50 room upscale boutique hotel in the heart of the PA Dutch Country
I love candles (spicy scents) and old clothing (bonnets and aprons). I love crafting with the Civil War repro fabrics and making things look old and used by coffee staining or using tea. I love old looking dolls and old feedsack and hopsack fabrics. Old books, old games, bowls and trenchers are also things I love.
